Located on the site of a former cottage, in an extremely remote area of Loch Achray, Perthshire, the project presents an exciting range of design challenges, set against a stunning location. The client's brief requests that all living accommodation be situated on the first floor, in order to maximise the sites' spectacular views over the loch, while all heating & hot water is to be provided via log burning boilers. The client has also expressed a preference for a simple palette of materials -  just timber, steel & glass. The solution proposed incorporates extensive south facing glazing over the loch, with a large external terrace linking the main living & kitchen spaces. A covered deck at ground floor meanwhile allows the master bedroom to be completely opened up to the view, regardless of the weather.
