Feasibility study exploring new mixed use residential / commercial development
Situated in the heart of the vibrant Merchant City district, the site constitutes one of the most prominent gap sites in the Merchant City area of Glasgow. The proposed development incorporates new basement car parking, ground floor workshops, 48 no. sheltered housing units and 10 no. penthouse maisonettes. In addition to the newbuild elements and roof extension to 51 Wilson Street, the proposals also proposed to retain and renewalish 51 Brunswick Street, for the purposes of retail and office space.
The interplay between solid and void on the elevational treatment has been carefully designed to be thoroughly contemporary, whilst still giving a strong hint to the 'art deco' style and scale of the neighbouring properties.
