SLG Company Hub

Extensive extension to existing facility to create museum, exhibition, reception and laboratory space.

The project sees a significant extension to the Grant Murray designed Baltic 3 building completed in 2012. The extension will cement the building as the public face of the company. It is intended to create a bold and dramatic addition to the building providing a focal point to the wider Baltic works campus. Housing new ‘customer experience’ areas, the form of the extension will reflect the ethos of modernity and innovation promoted by the company and provide a space befitting of their ambitions.

The proposal consists of two main and distinct elements. A significant extension to both the office / entrance area to the front of Baltic 3 to the east and an extension to the gable end of the building to the north. Within the proposed extensions it is proposed to create interconnected exhibition and event spaces, enhanced staff welfare areas and an ‘innovation centre’. The extension will tie into, and extend, the existing Baltic 3 building allowing SLG to integrate the new spaces with their R&D / Innovation hub, planned for the main factory floor space.
