New private dwelling
After outgrowing their terraced cottage, a new home was sought by our Client to accommodate the ever increasing demands of family live.
Set in the idyllic Ayrshire countryside the 5 bedroom home overcame significant rural planning constraints to gain permission to build the property adjacent to our Client's parent's former farmsteading.
Giving an impression of a collection of buildings rather than a single mass, the proposed house takes inspiration from the local ruins of byres and of the traditional farmstead buildings nearby. The massing was carefully considered to reflect the vernacular of the rural setting albeit in a modern interpretation.
