Flatted residential development for private sale
The project sees the construction of 34 flats for private sale on a largely derelict gap site in the Yorkhill / Finniston area of Glasgow. Taking advantage of a significant slope to the site, the development rises from 4 stories to the North to 6 stories to the South, offering panoramic views over the Clyde waterfront and west end of the city.
Several complexities were resolved during the development of the proposals including planning issues around daylighting and massing, & overcoming the challenge of building immediately adjacent to the Yorkhill railway tunnel.
The development features a large communal garden and off street parking, with ground floor properties benefiting from private rear garden areas. The design of the individual properties emphasises an open plan layout with generous room sizes to all apartments. Windows are proportioned to reflect traditional fenestration, allowing maximum light and solar gain into the properties. South facing balconies and Juliet style balconies to principle apartment windows feature throughout, to take advantage of the views.
